Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship Overview

 

This 30-month Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship is an online program tailored for individuals who have a UK law bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.2 grade or equivalent. Designed to equip students for their first day as a qualified solicitor, the apprenticeship includes preparation for the Solicitor Qualifying Exams (SQE), offering comprehensive training for both SQE1 and SQE2. Participants will benefit from personalised coaching, practice assessments, workshops, and a wealth of resources provided by Oxford University and Datalaw. Upon completing the program, graduates will be able to to undertake the SRA Character & Suitability test, allowing them to become a qualified solicitor.

How is it Funded?

 

The government gives funding to help people learn through apprenticeships, and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) is in charge of this. They pay for 95% of your learning costs, so your organisation only needs to pay 5% of the cost. Datalaw, who are an approved training provider, can use this funding on your firm’s behalf to help provide legal qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A bachelor's degree in law from the UK with a grade of 2.2 or higher.
  • Must spend 50% of your working time in England.
  • Must not be enrolled on another government funded apprenticeship currently.
  • You must currently be employed within a legal practice and your employer must approve of your enrolment.

Any time spent on the courses is tracked and evidenced on Datalaw’s CPD reporting dashboard (CPD Tracker). This evidence is stored and saved in our database for 5 years in case it is required as evidence for the SRA or regulatory bodies.
