Frequently Asked Questions

For Organisations

The Apprenticeship Levy is a government tax paid by employers with a pay bill over £3 million annually. It’s designed to fund apprenticeship training and supports businesses in developing skilled employees. If your business qualifies, you can use the levy to cover the cost of training apprentices.

Apprentices balance work and training through flexible online modules that fit around their work schedules.

Yes, you can enrol an existing employee in a law apprenticeship programme. It’s an excellent way to up-skill your workforce, with training designed to complement their current role while being fully funded through available government initiatives.

If you’re not a levy-funded business, you can still access apprenticeship funding through the government’s co-investment scheme. This means you’ll contribute a percentage towards the cost of training (usually 5%), and the government will cover the rest. Our team will guide you through the process to ensure the apprenticeship is affordable and meets your business needs.

For Individuals

No, apprenticeships are free for learners. They are fully funded through government schemes, so you won’t need to pay for any of the training or qualifications.

At Datalaw we can help with this process by scheduling a one-on-one meeting with you and your employer to explain the programme and answer any questions.

However, you can also schedule a separate meeting with your manager or HR. Do your homework—learn about the apprenticeship, its benefits for both you and the company, and how it’s fully funded. Then, explain how the programme can enhance your skills and contribute to your role. This proactive approach shows your commitment to professional growth and makes the conversation smoother.

Datalaw offers multiple start dates for our law apprenticeship programmes, with a minimum of four intakes per year. This flexibility ensures you can begin your legal qualification at a time that suits your schedule, making it easier to balance your learning with your personal and professional commitments.

The duration of our law apprenticeships can vary depending on the level and your prior experience, with most apprenticeships taking between 13 months and 3 years to complete. This flexibility allows learners to progress at their own pace while gaining valuable skills.
