Why Do You Need This Course?

 

To receive or maintain a Legal Aid Contract in a Category of Law, a firm must employ a Supervisor in that Category. To qualify as a Legal Aid Supervisor, an individual must meet one of the following criterion:

 

  1. Have supervised in the relevant Category of Law and/or Class of Work at least one full-time Caseworker (or equivalent) for at least one year in the five-year period prior to application
  2. Have completed a suitable legal aid training course covering key supervisory skills no earlier than 12 months prior application
  3. Have completed the Level 3 or higher National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) standard in supervising no earlier than five years prior to application

This course has been designed specifically to meet criterion 2 detailed above and will assist delegates quickly and easily complete the training they require to qualify as a supervisor.  This course will also benefit those who qualified via criteria 1 & 3 and would like to refresh their supervisory skills.
