Frequently Asked Questions

This marketing apprenticeship is ideal for individuals at the beginning of their marketing career, as well as those already working in a marketing role without a formal qualification.

It is well suited to:

  • School or college leavers looking to enter the marketing profession

  • Career changers wanting to move into a marketing role

  • Marketing assistants or junior team members seeking structured development

  • Employees responsible for digital content, social media, or campaign support

  • Businesses that want to develop in-house marketing capability

Because the programme is delivered in a real workplace setting, learners must be employed in a role where they can actively contribute to marketing activity. The apprenticeship benefits organisations of all sizes and sectors that want to strengthen their marketing strategy while developing long-term internal expertise.

Marketing apprenticeships typically lasts 14 months, followed by up to 5 additional months to complete the end-point assessment.

During the 14-month training period, learners take part in structured workshops, guided study, and practical workplace application. They apply their learning directly to real marketing campaigns within their organisation, building experience while working towards their qualification.

The end-point assessment phase allows time to finalise their portfolio, complete any required assessments, and demonstrate full occupational competence before achieving the qualification.

Marketing apprenticeships are government-funded training programmes, which means there’s little to no cost for learners or many employers.

Here’s how the funding works:

  • Government Contribution: The UK government contributes the majority of the training cost, up to £11,000 for the Marketing Apprenticeship.

  • Co-funded Employers: If an employer is co-funding the apprenticeship (i.e., not using levy funds), they pay no more than £550 towards the training.

  • Levy-Paying Employers: Organisations that pay into the apprenticeship levy can use their levy funds to cover the full cost of the programme.

For learners, there are no tuition fees to pay directly, the training is funded as long as both learner and employer meet the apprenticeship eligibility requirements.

On successful completion of the programme, you will achieve a Level 3 Marketing Apprenticeship (Multi-Channel Marketer) qualification.

This nationally recognised qualification is equivalent to two A-Levels and demonstrates that you can plan, deliver, and evaluate marketing activity across a range of channels in a professional setting.
